Community-Wide Effort Runs May 10th – July 5th with Outreach, Events & More!
The Sheehy Auto Stores’ 22nd annual Sheehy 8000 sales event will run from May 10th to July 5th. This is a community wide initiative in which all 22 Sheehy Auto dealerships sell cars while raising awareness and money to benefit the American Heart Association.
“This year is a milestone for us as we continue our mission to raise awareness and funds for a cause that is close to many of our hearts.” said Vince Sheehy, President of Sheehy Auto Stores. “We are thankful for our customers, communities and team members who rally behind this effort, making each year’s campaign more successful than the last.”
Last year our Sheehy 8000 campaign raised $300,000 for the charity, and to date we have raised over $1 million raised for the AHA! Additionally we’ve raised a grand total of over $40 million for community and non-profit organizations throughout our organization’s over 50 years of history.
Each of our Sheehy dealerships throughout Washington DC, Richmond, VA and Baltimore, MD will lead various initiatives in support of the Sheehy 8000 including healthy cooking demonstrations, blood pressure screenings and CPR training for employees and the community.
Our support of the American Heart Association extends beyond the Sheehy 8000. For the past several years, we as a company have been a sponsor and partner at the National Walking Day event which is held on the first Wednesday in April at Springfield Town Center, to promote walking and a heart-healthy lifestyle. In addition, each of our Sheehy dealerships held their own step challenges among employees that day.
“Sheehy Auto Stores’ support is creating healthier communities in the Greater Washington, Baltimore and Richmond regions,” said Soula Antoniou, Executive Director at the American Heart Association. “Thank you Sheehy team members, customers, and vendors for your support of AHA’s mission. By working together, we can be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.”
The mission of the American Heart Association is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Our goal is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke for all Americans. We are constantly working hard to reduce the number of people dying from cardiovascular diseases and strokes. We do this by advocating to place AEDs in public places like airports and malls, researching to find the next medical breakthrough in regards to heart health, helping hospitals implement different processes to improve stroke and cardiac patient outcomes and establishing CRP guidelines and training people of all ages to be able to save lives. We are also reducing the high amounts of bad calories children are consuming at school and celebrating the many babies that are saved by the mandatory pulse oximetry screening that they receive before leaving the hospital. We are thrilled to be working with Sheehy Auto Stores for the second year in a row for the Sheehy 8000.
Together we are working to save lives and better our community!
